If you are serious about becoming a safe, skilled and responsible motorist, you must treat your preparation for the DMV written test with the respect it deserves. Remember that you are not just learning this material to get through the permit test. The knowledge you acquire in the process will be essential to your safety while you are practicing your driving maneuvers and vehicle control skills on public roads. The whole point of the Vermont permit test is to make sure that novice road users can fine-tune their driving skills without creating dangerous situations on the roadway. If you cut corners while studying rules of the road or road signs, you could find yourself in some pretty hazardous situations behind the wheel.
If you have plenty of time left before taking the DMV permit test, you may wish to embark on your learning journey by working your way through our entire drivers ed course. The program is designed to take around 30 hours to complete, breaking essential information down into manageable lessons and modules. “Signs, Signals & Markings” and “Rules of the Road” are the two modules which cover the information you will need for the permit test. Once you have completed the course, you should return to these chapters to revisit this essential material in more detail. Alternatively, you could skip straight to the road rule and road sign modules, returning to complete the remainder of the course once the Vermont DMV test is out of the way. The course is free, flexible and available to use however and whenever you see fit.
In Vermont, the permit test DMV exam contains 20 multiple-choice questions which are randomly selected from a much larger pool of questions. Roughly one third of the permit test questions cover pavement markings and road signs, while the remaining two thirds cover rules of the road. To be awarded a passing grade, you must answer at least 16 of the DMV test questions correctly.
